Islamabad: 125 bottles of liquor, 172 cans of beer seized
Islamabad: The Islamabad Police on Wednesday nabbed 17 persons for their alleged involvement in drug peddling, keeping illegal weapons and recovered 125 bottles of liquor, 172 cans of beer, two kilograms of hashish, 5.5 kilograms of opium, four pistols, one gun, 10 small sacks of crackers, 215 grams of heroin and brewing equipment from their possession, the police spokesman said.
IGP Bani Amin Khan has asked all SDPOs and SHOs to curb criminal activities in their respective jurisdictions. Following these directions, patrolling has been intensified.
The Shahzad Town Police team arrested four bootleggers and recovered 105 wine bottles, 40 cans of beer, fake labels and equipment used in brewing wine from them. The nabbed persons were identified as Aashir Masih, Anil Masih, Hameed Masih and Javed Masih.
The Shalimar Police apprehended a Nigerian national, Ezema, from a restaurant in Sector G-10/4 and recovered 28 bottles of wine and 128 cans of beer from his possession.
The Golra Police arrested a drug pusher Mehboob ur Rehman and recovered 1.540 kilograms of hashish from him. The Sabzi Mandi Police apprehended Rani Bibi, Zahida Bibi, Noor Firoz and Ajab Din for having 5.5 kilograms of opium and 660 grams of hashish.
The Golra Police arrested Riaz after recovery of a 12-bore gun and Zahid Hussain with 10 small bags of crackers. The Tarnol Police apprehended Razzaq Khan, Siraj and Rehman Gul after recovery of one pistol each of 30-bore from them.
The Nilore Police arrested Nadeem for having a 30-bore pistol, while Koral Police apprehended Arshad for possessing 215 grams of heroin.
