Hangu: The News reporter threatened again
HANGU: Unidentified persons again threatened The News correspondent to stop writing against the Taliban militants in the district. Saleh Din Orakzai, The News correspondent, received a call at 9 a.m. from phone number 092-5664088, threatening him to stop writing against the Taliban militants in Hangu. For the second time he has received such threats. Earlier, he was threatened six months ago. The administration has failed to trace the caller.
An emergency meeting of the journalists held at the Hangu Press Club condemned the fresh threats to Saleh Din Orakzai and urged the government to provide security to him and other journalists.
Meanwhile, DPO Abdur Rasheed told newsmen that the phone numbers provided to the police for tracing out the callers were mostly unregistered and difficult to track down.
