Lahore: Iqbal Town police arrests 23 hardened criminals
LAHORE: Iqbal Town Division Investigation Police has arrested 23 hardened criminals, including a woman, involved in the cases of robbery, burglary, vehicle theft, kidnapping, mobile snatching and murder, and recovered cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 10.5 million from them.
According to a handout issued on Thursday, on the directive of Capital City Police Officer, Ahmad Raza Tahir, DIG (Investigation) Ali Amir Malik and SSP (Investigation) Abdul Razzaq Cheema directed Iqbal Town Division SP (Investigation) Sahibzada Bilal Umar to take measures against the gangs involved in various crimes in the city. The Iqbal Town division SP constituted several special teams of police officials under the supervision of DSP Nawankot circle Chaudhry Muhammad Anwar.
The police teams collected particulars of the criminals and arrested 23 of them. The police have recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 7.3 million, 20 mobiles, 3 cars, 2 motorcycles, Rs 3.2 million in cash, 28 prize bonds, and 13 pistols along with 51 bullets from their possession. The arrested were involved in many cases and are proclaimed offenders. Further investigation is under way.
