HFH doctors’ torture case: ATC accepts bail plea of two accused
RAWALPINDI: The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi no 1, on Monday accepted the bails plea of two accused, allegedly involved in ransacking of ICU of Holy Family Hospital (HFH) and thrashing doctors, after the out of court settlement between two parties.
The court also directed each of the accused to submit surety bonds worth Rs 1, 00,000. The matter was settled outside the court on the intervention of Allied Hospitals Board of Management (BoM) Head Dr Muhammad Aslam during a meeting held at HFH.
Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) Principal Dr Afzal Farooqi, social worker and Pakistan Green Task Force (PGTF) President Dr Jamal Nasir also attended the meeting while representatives of Young Doctors Association (YDA) and Raja Aftab of Pindora participated with the deceased’s family. During the meeting, the doctors and relatives of the deceased patients apologized each other after which the dispute settlement documents were tendered before the court. ATC No 1 Judge Malik Muhammad Akram Awan ordered release of Abid Abbasi and Naheem Abbasi against the surety bonds of Rs 1,00,000 each.
