Islamabad: Man gunned down over monetary dispute
ISLAMABAD: A man was gunned down by his in-laws over a money dispute on Monday, police said. The victim, identified as Azmat Shah, 30, was a resident of Rawalpindi’s Hazara Colony. Police said shortly after marriage eight months back, Shah had given his brother-in-law Rs400,000 in loan. However, when he demanded the money back, it turned into a dispute between the two families.
On Monday, Shah again went over to the residence of in-laws in sector I-10/1. As he asked for money, a scuffle broke out. Police said during the scuffle, one of Shah’s brothers-in-law pulled out a pistol and fired at him. Shot in the abdomen, he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police have arrested two brothers-in-law of Shah and registered a case against them.
