2 women killed as Afghan mortar shell hits house in Bajaur
KHAR: Two women were killed and nine others, including six children, sustained injuries when a mortar shell fired from Afghanistan hit a house in Mamond tehsil of Bajaur Agency, official and tribal sources said Tuesday. Sources said that a mortar shell fired from the Afghan border area struck a house in Gabri village in Mamond tehsil bordering Afghanistan, leaving two women dead and nine others wounded.
The injured, including six children, were taken to the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Khar. Some of the injured are said to be in a critical condition. This is the third such attack over the last month in Bajaur’s Mamond tehsil.
