6 killed in two Khairpur incidents
SUKKUR: Six people were killed in Khairpur in two different incidents on Wednesday. Police said a clash between two groups of the Odho clan in the limits of Pir Jo Goth in village Kalandar Bakhsh Odho developed over an old Karo Kari issue.
Ghaus Bakhsh and Shaman Odho were killed in the exchange of firing while Barkat Ali Jatoi, hired by the Hamiz Ali Odho, was also killed in the firing and Hamiz Ali Odho got injured.
Police rushed to the place of the incident and carried the bodies to hospital. Police said the clash developed over an old Karo Kari issue which had already claimed 13 lives, including four women, earlier.
In another incident in the limits of Agra police station of Khairpur, armed men of Jatoi clan shot dead three people of Bhatti clan in village Dilawar. The dead were identified as Shaukat, Mehboob and Zahid Hulio.
The police collected the bodies, took them to hospital for post-mortem but failed to arrest the killers. Later, parents of the dead carried the bodies to the Khairpur-Larkana bridge and staged protest demo demanding arrest of the killers.
Traffic communication remained suspended for four hours due to the demo after which SSP Khairpur approached them to assure the arrest of the killers and got the road opened for traffic.
Police said a woman Shabnam Bhatti was allegedly abducted by the men of Jatoi clan and later her body was found in Larkana Hospital. Police said the issue flared up both clans and seven people have already been killed in which one was from Jatois and six from Bhattis.
