Lahore: 2 highway robberies foiled
LAHORE: National Highways & Motorway Police N-5 Central have arrested nine criminals after foiling two dacoity attempts in passenger buses.
Moreover, they recovered two snatched vehicles, seized arms and ammunition and reunited three children with their families during the last couple of days.
The NH&MP N-5 Central officers foiled an attempt to loot a bus en route from Dera Ghazi Khan to Lahore near Khanewal and arrested four accused, Zafar Iqbal of Layyah, Munawwar of Sahiwal, Abbas of Okara and Ghulam Ali of Lahore. Two loaded pistols and four magazines were also recovered from them. Another attempt of dacoity was also foiled in a Lahore to Multan bound bus by the patrol officers of N-5 Central and two accused, Tayyab and Shahzad, who intoxicated the bus driver were also arrested.
Similarly, a snatched APV and a car (LEA-1357) bearing fake number plates have also been recovered the law enforcers. Furthermore, NH&MP officers reunited Farooq, 11, Shahzad, 12, son of Khuda Bux and Shukat, 9, son of Mushtaq with their families. Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police Zafarullah Khan has appreciated the patrol officers and awarded commendation certificates to them.
