Lahore: Man Killed over dispute
LAHORE: A 65-year-old man was shot dead while his son was shot and injured when five persons opened fire on them over a family dispute in Scheme II, X-Block, in Shadbagh police area on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Anwar while the injured youth was identified as Khurram, 30. Police said Khurram had contracted a marriage to the daughter of one Nazir Ahmad, a resident of Gujrat.
However, he divorced her and married another girl twenty days back. Nazir Ahmad had nursed a grudge against him while one Zafar, who happened to be an uncle of his second wife, had also nurtured a grudge against him for marrying his niece without her family’s approval.
On the day of incident, five armed men made their forced entry into his house and shot and wounded Anwar and his son Khurram.
Anwar received three bullet wounds, two in his chest, and died on the spot, while Khurram received one bullet wound in his leg. He was admitted to a local hospital where his condition was said to be out of danger. Police registered a case against five persons, including Zafar, Nazir Ahmad, Anwar-ul-Haq and two unidentified persons, and shifted the body to mortuary for autopsy.
