Islamabad: 12 suspects arrested
ISLAMABAD: As many as 12 suspects were arrested on Thursday by the Sabzi Mandi police during a search operation, a police spokesman said.
He said the search operation was conducted at slum areas and under construction buildings which led to the arrest of 12 suspects who could not produce identification documents.
IGP Bani Amin Khan and SSP Tahir Alam Khan directed all the police stations to expand search operations in their respective areas and ensure strict monitoring and vigilance.
The senior officers also directed all the zonal SPs and circle SDPOs to ensure checking of all the hotels, guest houses and restaurants in their respective areas and devise a proper mechanism to check visitors` list from time to time.
They said that some tenants might hire houses without providing accurate information and directed the station house officers as well as other police officials to check the particulars of all the tenants during search operations. They said that the notables of the areas should be engaged to achieve success in drive against the suspected elements.
Meanwhile, the capital police also arrested six persons including a woman for their alleged involvement in bootlegging, theft and recovered wine, stolen items and weapons from them.
