Lahore: Kiln workers freed
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday set at liberty 15 kiln workers, including women and children, after getting them recovered from illegal detention of a kiln owner of Gujranwala.
Saifullah filed a habeas corpus petition and submitted that kiln owner Aslam illegally detained his 15 relatives and had been taking forced labour from them. He alleged that the detainees were being tortured and the women sexually harassed by the kiln owner.
The court deputed a bailiff who recovered the detainees and produced them in the court. The court released all of them and observed that they could approach an appropriate forum to initiate a legal action against the kiln owner.
