Daska people at the mercy of criminals
DASKA: The entire city was in the grip of heinous crimes adding to public woes. The locals have been making a litany of complaints to the high-ups but to no avail.
The street crimes’ graph was mounting day by day, raising the worries of the locals, especially shopkeepers and traders, who complained that many of their customers were being deprived of their bikes outside their outlets. The gangs of motorcycle snatchers were very active in the city, Though UC motorcycle squads were deployed in the city, they had failed to help cut the crime rates.
However the people also complained against the police for their attitude in registering a case. Police have miserably failed in tracing out or arresting the accused directly or indirectly involved in such crimes.
SNGPL Daska Incharge Shahid Saleem said he went to a shop on congested Sambrial Road locality where he was deprived of his motorcycle. Police have not yet registered the case, he added. Robbers looted a woman from Muhallah Islampura on College Road locality and tortured her. Police have not yet registered a case despite the passage of four days.
The Motra Police failed to find any clue to the robbery of worth Rs 2 million in a bank along the under-construction main Daska-Gujranwala Road while three weeks have passed and the Daska City police still remained unable to arrest the accused, who had killed Pandoriyaan villagers – Shehbaz Khan and Niaz Khan – over an old enmity by showering bullets in Daska Judicial Complex on June 25. Daska Bar President Muhammad Asif Bajwa termed the incident a severe security lap, as there was no policeman when the incident took place in the courts.
