Lahore: Accused of courtroom killing held
LAHORE: City police on Friday claimed to have arrested the accused who gunned down two men in District and Sessions courtroom a couple of weeks ago, and fled away from the crime scene. According to a police spokesman, Capital City Police Officer Ahmed Raza Tahir constituted a special police team following the tragic incident and directed the police to immediately arrest the killer.
The police team collected evidences and particulars of the killer and managed to capture him during a successful raid, police officials said. The accused has been identified as Muhammad Arshad, who had killed Ali Imran and Zeeshan Iqbal in the courtroom.
The deceased had appeared before the judge in a case when the killer appeared there, opened straight fire on them and later fled away. Raza had also visited the crime scene, met lawyers and the judges and ordered the police to step up the security for the courts. Further investigations are underway.
