Lahore: 1,100 accused held in three months
Lahore: Mujahid Squad claimed to have arrested 1,100 persons, including drug peddlers, gamblers and robbers, during the last three months. According to a handout issued on Sunday, Mujahid Squad also seized illegal weapons, drugs and stolen motorcycles from the arrested accused.
Mujahid Squad police registered 202 cases of carrying illegal weapons. Moreover, during the crackdown against drug dealers, 37 kg Charas, 7kg heroin and hundreds of bottles of liquor was also seized and 477 cases were registered. The police also recovered four stolen motorcycles besides arresting men involved in different crimes, including wheelie and gambling and registered 133 cases. The DIG Operations appreciated the performance of Mujahid Squad and announced cash and commendatory certificates for the Mujahid Squad officials.
Mujahid Squad SP Ather Waheed has directed all patrolling officers to take stern action against criminals to lower crime graph in the City. He also directed them to take immediate action on Rescue 15 emergency calls.
