Lahore: Arrest warrants for bank manager
LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Monday issued bailable arrest warrants for Tasneem Rizvi, Area Manager of First Woman Bank Faisalabad D-ground branch, for not appearing before the court in connection with the case seeking registration of fraud case against her and other officers of the bank.
Petitioner Ammara Waqas through her counsel contended that Tasneem Rizvi along with Farida Yasmeen, Branch Manager, and Ammara Ismael, Credit Manager of the bank, used to visit her (petitioner) superstore.
She said three bank officers persuaded her to obtain loan of Rs one million from the First Woman Bank to expand her business. She said the respondents sought Rs100,000 from her which, according to them, would be for process fee and documentation for the loan facility.
The petitioner said she gave the money to them through a cheque and the loan amount was transferred to her newly opened bank account. Later, respondents demanded more money as illegal gratification and threatened her to cancel the loan.
Petitioner alleged that when she did not fulfil illegal demand of the respondent bank officers they managed to cease her bank account and consequently she could not withdraw her loan amount from the account.
She said a complaint was filed with Madina Town police station but the police took no action against the respondents. She prayed to the court to direct the police to take action against the respondents and get her money recovered from them.
Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan had summoned all three respondents but only two except Tasneem Rizvi appeared on Monday. The court directed the two to file their replies on the next hearing and issue bailable arrest warrants for Ms. Rizvi subject to furnish the bail bonds of Rs50,000. The court also summoned Madina Town SHO for July 28.
