Lahore: Drug peddler jailed
LAHORE: An anti narcotics court on Monday awarded a ten-year jail term to a drug peddler namely Rana Azam. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs. 100,000 on the convict. In case of default in payment of fine, the convict will have to undergo further six months imprisonment.
Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) had arrested the said accused and recovered 20 kilograms of hashish from his possession. Later, ANF had registered a criminal case against the accused under Anti Narcotics Act and submitted a challan before the said court.
On Monday, the court after hearing the detailed arguments of defence and prosecution convicted Rana Azam, as he was proved guilty of carrying the said quantity of hashish.
