Lahore: 4 killed in separate incidents across city
LAHORE: A 30-year-old pregnant woman died while two others received injuries when two rickshaws collided in Nawan Kot police limits on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Samina Bibi, wife of Muhammad Ramzan Mustafa and resident of Park N-Block Sabzazar. The injured persons were identified as 45-year-old Naziran and 28-year-old Nadeem. According to police, both Samina and Naziran were on their way to a hospital on a rickshaw when another rickshaw coming from the opposite direction dashed into their vehicle. As a result, Samina received critical injuries and died while being rushed to a hospital. Police handed over the dead body to the heirs after legal procedure was completed.
In another incident, a 30-year-old man died after he fell off a moving train at the Railway Station. The deceased was identified as Arif, son of Ameen. The dead body was shifted to a morgue. Also, two unidentified persons were found dead from different parts of the city.
Factory Area Police recovered dead body of a 30-year-old man from its limits. Similarly, Old Anarkali police recovered dead body of a 79-year-old man from its jurisdiction. Police claimed that both the persons were addicts and died due to drug overdose. Both the dead bodies were shifted to a morgue.
Meanwhile, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) SSP Syed Ahmed Mobin directed all the concerned DSPs to initiate crackdown against applied-for vehicles, vehicles plying on roads without number plates and improper number plates. The CTO directed them to advise common citizens to display computerised number plates on their vehicles.
