Lahore: CIA arrests 24 criminals, recovers Rs 3m
LAHORE: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the Lahore Police, on Tuesday, arrested 24 hardened criminals, including hired assassins and proclaimed offenders, and recovered over Rs three million, 37 tola gold ornaments, 110 mobile phones and illicit weapons from their possession.
Addressing a press conference at CIA Office, CIA SP Umer Virk and Inspector Muhammad Fiaz said that arrested criminals were involved in dacoity–cum-murder, dacoity-cum-injury, murder, snatching and looting incidents in different areas of the city.
Virk said that the criminals had confessed to 56 incidents of crime during initial interrogation. He said four persons, Naveed alias Needa, Maqsood alias Mitho, Irshad alias Shada and Zafar Iqbal alias Zafri, had been in jail over charges of dacoity-cum-murder, murder and other crimes.
