2 recovered from Peshawar police custody
PESHAWAR: Bailiffs on Wednesday recovered two missing persons held by the Pishtakhara Police Station officials for more than three days. A relative of the missing persons had filed an application in the court of District and Sessions Judge (DSJ) Peshawar, Ziauddin Khattak and stated that the police had unlawfully detained his two relatives, Iftikhar of Abdarra and Zahidullah of Mashogagar, Peshawar.
The applicant pointed out that his relatives had been arrested three days ago by the Pishtakhara Police Station but they were not produced before the court. The DSJ appointed two bailiffs, Sifatullah and Azmat, who raided the police station and recovered the detenues from there. The bailiffs told the court that officials at the police station said that the two were charged and arrested by the Hayatabad Police Station in a car theft case committed six months ago and were handed over to them for investigation. They alleged that after their recovery, the Pishtakhara Police Station requested the Hayatabad police to charge the detainues in an untraced case of car theft that occurred some six months ago.
