Burewala: Case against 2 brothers to conceal ‘negligence’
BUREWALA: The Vehari EDO Health has ordered an inquiry into negligence of two nurses in the treatment of the mother of two brothers at Tehsil Headquarters hospital, torturing them with the help of others staffers and registering a bogus case against them to conceal their negligence.
The EDO Health has formed a two-member committee to thrash out the facts. Irshad Bibi, a resident of Chak 92/EB, suffered a heart attack after the death of his daughter-in-law and was shifted to Burewala THQ hospital emergency ward in a precarious condition. After her examination and medical treatment, the duty doctor sent her to the ward. Imran and Abdul Razzaq took their mother to the ward where two nurses, including Shamim, were chatting and did not take notice of the patient. The nurses refused to admit her to the ward. Imran and Abdul Razzaq raised a hue and cry over the issue. Later on the intervention of the local police and media, the woman was admitted to the ward.
The nurses allegedly with help of some doctors raised the issue and registered a case against Imran and Abdul Razzaq at the City police station. The nurses again raised the issue and forced the doctors and other staffers to wear black armbands and observe a strike, refusing to attend the patients. The nurses did not accept the request of the medical superintendent and continued the strike, which hampered the routine work at the hospital. The Vehari EDO Health took notice of the strike and ordered a probe in to the matter.
