2 injured in SWA suicide attack
WANA: Two persons sustained injuries in a suicide attack on the vehicle of a contractor working with the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) in the Kotki area located in the Srarogha tehsil of South Waziristan on Thursday, official and tribal sources said.
The sources said the vehicle of the contractor working on the Makeen-Jandola road was the target of the suicide bomber who detonated his explosives-laden vest near the car injuring Hayat and Hazrat Ali.
In the blast, the car was badly damaged while the wounded persons were shifted to the FC Hospital in Jandola area. Soon after the incident, the security forces cordoned off the area. When contacted, officials in the South Waziristan political administration confirmed the incident, saying the bomber’s body had been recovered from the spot and further investigation was being carried out.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but it was obvious that the attack had been carried out by the militants. The Kotki area where the incident happened is the native village of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Hakimullah Mahsud and Qari Hussain, the slain trainer of suicide bombers.
