Headquarters of LI demolished in Jamrud
JAMRUD: The security forces-backed Amn Lashkar of Jundakhel tribe Thursday demolished the headquarters of the banned Lashkar-e-Islam in Chora area of Jamrud tehsil in Khyber Agency, local residents said.
“We conducted the operation with the help of the security forces and demolished the headquarters of the militants who had abandoned it before the action,” Malik Muhammad Hussain, the head of the newly- raised tribal lashkar, told The News.
He said the tribal lashkar had warned all the militants residing in Chora to vacate the area or else they would be expelled forcefully. “The militants voluntarily left the area before the clean-up operation,” he said, adding the tribal lashkar had established 12 bunkers on the hilltops surrounding their village in order to protect the area from the militants.
