Islamabad: Anjum Aqeel’s remand extended to another four days
ISLAMABAD: Senior Civil Judge Mehmood Haroon Thursday extended the physical remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) legislator Anjum Aqeel to another four days.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team presented the MNA before the court after the expiry of the three-day physical remand in the year old case (FIR-115/ 2010), lodged with Shalimar Police Station under sections 406 and 409 PPC, on the complaint of Shahbahat Ali.
The FIA team requested the court to extend for seven more days the physical remand of the accused, but the court granted only four days remand in FIA custody.
Meanwhile, The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) No-I, Rawalpindi, judge Malik Muhammad Akram Awan acquitted three out of eleven accused in PML-N MNA’s escape case while eight others were sent to jail on judicial remand.
The three accused who were acquitted include Shaheen Akbar, Azam Khan and Mian Maqbool while the eight were sent to jail include Malik Rab Nawaz, Tahir Aziz, Amjad Khan, Fakhar Khan, Nasir Jamal, Malik Akhtar, Khalid and Ibrar.
