Islamabad: Fake doctor remanded to police for two days
ISLAMABAD: Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Ameer Mukhtar Gondal on Thursday granted two days physical remand of a fake doctor to police. The accused was involved in medical practice without possessing any degree of medical practitioner and running the hospital illegally at his residence.
On Thursday Margalla Police officials produced accused before the court and informed it that on receiving complaints from the patients, Assistant Commissioner / Sub-Divisional Magistrate Industrial Area Islamabad Imran Ali Sultan along with SP City Muhammad Illyas conducted a surprise raid at a Hospital in F -8/2 Islamabad on July 20 and arrested a person namely Manzoor Hussain who was involved in medical practice without possessing any degree of medical practitioner and running the hospital illegally at his residence. Manzoor was also involved in exploiting issueless couples and ruining their health.
During the raid, the accused could neither provide any degree of medical practitioner nor the registration certificate of the PMDC for doing the medical practice. The accused was allegedly treating the infertile couples charging heavy fees from them. Allegedly, the medical treatment by him was causing renal side effects among the patients.
Police official also informed that the complainant also approached the NAB in this connection, which asked the PMDC to investigate the matter. The PMDC asked the DHO to conduct an inquiry. The DHO probed the issue and recorded the statements of the victims.
After arrest of the accused police produced him before the magistrate who granted police 3-day remand with orders to again produce him on July 23.
