Lahore: Wife’s murderer gets death
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Tahir Khan Niazi on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to one Latif on the charge of murdering his wife.
The court has also directed the convict to pay Rs. 30,000 as compensation to the family of victim. Latif had murdered his wife Parveen after torturing her. Later, Sabzazar Police had registered a criminal case against Latif. On Thursday, the court after hearing the final arguments of both the parties convicted Latif. Meanwhile, Additional District and Sessions Judge Saeed Ullah Mughal on Thursday awarded death sentence to Fariad Masih on the charge of murdering his wife.
The court has awarded life imprisonment to one Zafer Iqbal, a co-accused of Fariad. The court has directed the convicts to pay Rs. 200,000 each as compensation to the heirs of victim. In case of default in payment of fine, both convicts will undergo six moths jail. Fariad Masih in collaboration with his cousin Zafer Iqbal had murdered his wife Sonia in 2004.
