Peshawar: KP chief of People’s Unity, colleague shot dead — Video
PESHAWAR: Unidentified assailants gunned down two employees of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), including the provincial president of People’s Unity, Syed Kamal, here on Thursday, police sources said.
The sources said the president of Pakistan People’s Party-affiliated People’s Unity, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Syed Kamal, was returning home with another PIA staffer Ayaz Khan in a car when two motorcyclists fired at them near the Bara Gate area.
The sources said both sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot. The eyewitnesses said that one of the attackers was clad in a Burqa. A brother of Syed Kamal reportedly linked the incident to personal enmity and said the deceased was facing life threats. The People’s Unity information secretary Muhammad Farooq condemned the incident and asked the government to provide security to PIA employees.
