Karachi: 90 killed in city last week
Karachi: Some 90 persons lost their lives last week, of whom 50 were shot dead, eight were murdered, three of them were burnt to death, five committed suicide, one drowned, while seven bodies were recovered. At least 16 people died in accidents.
Over 1,938 robberies were committed of which 1,089 pertained to snatching or stealing of mobile phones while 122 cars and 184 motorcycles were also snatched. People were robbed of valuables in 543 incidents of robberies. Three-hundred-and-eighty-eight thefts were reported last week, in which 104 cars, 220 motorcycles were taken away from different parts of the metropolis. Over 249 miscreants were arrested and 434 articles were recovered.

At least 2326 robberies were committed of which 1461 pertained to snatching or stealing of mobile phones, apart from snatching of 120 cars and 179 motorcycles. People were robbed of valuables in 566 other incidents of robberies in all. Three-hundred-and-seventy-two cases of thefts were reported last week, in which 108 cars, 214 motorcycles were taken away from the different parts of the metropolis.
According to the police data, 484 miscreants were arrested and 548 articles were recovered.
