Islamabad: Distillery unearthed, two arrested
ISLAMABAD: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) on Monday unearthed a distillery and arrested two persons involved in preparing local liquor and selling it with famous foreign trade marks, police said.
The CIA also recovered 90 bottles of liquor, four drums of alcohol, 150 empty bottles and hundreds of trade marks of foreign liquor including Vodka, Sliver Top and Vod-1 along with equipments.
CIA Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bashir Ahmad Noon said that the police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid in Mehrabadi village in G-12 and arrested two persons and recovered the liquor prepared in the distillery.
During interrogation, the accused, belonging to Lahore, revealed that they brought alcohol, other stuff, empty bottles and trade marks of foreign liquor from Lahore.
He said that the accused established their setup in the capital some days back and were selling the liquor to the local suppliers.
He said that the accused would be produced in the court on Tuesday (today) to seek their remand for further investigation.
