Karachi: Rs 7 million looted from jewellery shop
KARACHI: Unidentified robbers, early Monday whisked away with a substantial quantity of gold ornaments worth more than Rs 7 million from the jurisdiction of Ferozabad police station. According to police, the robbers broke into ‘Al-Noor Jewellers’ shop located near Liberty roundabout, Tariq Road.
They firstly entered its adjacent shop ‘Unique Dry Cleaners’ by lifting its main shutter with a pulley. The looters then broke the sidewall of laundry shop to enter Al–Noor jewellers. SHO Ferozabad said the value of stolen gold was yet to be ascertained while police, who registered a case (547/11) on the complaint of shop owner Yaseen, detained some 12 suspects for interrogation. Meanwhile, Yaseen said the owner of Unique Dry Cleaners informed him about the burglary and added that the robbers escaped with a bag full of gold ornaments worth Rs 7 million.
