Lahore: Veena house theft accused acquitted
LAHORE: Judicial Magistrate Imran Yousaf on Monday quashed an FIR lodged by actress Veena Malik against her ex-employee on theft charges. The court has quashed the FIR as the investigation officer of the case stated that complainant was not cooperating in the investigation and not providing evidence against the accused.
He requested the court to quash the FIR against Muhammad Munir, ex-employee of Veena. On this, the court quashed the FIR and order release of the accused.
Veena had lodged an FIR against her former employee Muhammad Munir, accusing him of stealing Rs 1.6 million in cash and some gold ornaments from her house in Defence.
Muhammad Munir while recording his statement before the police said that he and his wife used to work at the house of Veena.
He said Veena started disturbing them after her clash with cricketer Muhammad Asif as they were employed by Veena on Asif’s recommendation.
He alleged that the actress did not even give their pay of last three months and terminated their services without paying the salary. He said she called him to her house to pay the salary and got him arrested by the police.
