4 terrorists held in Rawalpindi — Video
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested four terrorists from Dhok Kashmirian, Rawalpindi, and recovered two suicide jackets from them.
Islamabad IGP Binyameen, when contacted by The News on Friday, confirmed the report. He said that the police had arrested one of the four terrorists last week and during interrogation, he had confessed to his links with a terrorist outfit active in North Waziristan.
The Islamabad IGP said that during interrogation, he disclosed that they were four in number and had shifted to Islamabad to hit vital installations and main personalities of the ruling party.
The IGP said the suspect told the police that they were living in a house in Dhok Kashmirian, Rawalpindi. The suspect also revealed that two of them were suicide bombers and were ready to hit their targets.
The IGP said that after formation of a team, a raid was conducted on their hideout and three other terrorists were arrested and two suicide jackets with arms and ammunition recovered from them.
The Bomb Disposal Squad of the Pakistan Army and police jointly defused both the suicide jackets. The IGP said the police had shifted the suspects to an unknown place for further interrogation.
He said that the suspected terrorists were activists of a banned militant group based in North Waziristan. The group was involved in terrorist activities in Peshawar and other parts of the country, he added.
