Islamabad: Drunkard guns down a man, commits suicide
Islamabad: A drunkard gunned down, manager of the residential apartments and also committed suicide on late Friday night, a police spokesman said.
The police have recovered both the dead bodies with a bottle of liquor from the apartment and shifted them to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for autopsy. The cause of killing could not be ascertained yet, however, the police claimed that the young man trapped the manager in the drink party and then killed him.
Mohammad Nauman was running a construction company and had established an office at Sohan Apartments located in Sohan, the police said, adding that he had started many projects in Islamabad and other cities. The police, quoting witnesses, said that he had a room for residential purpose in his apartment where he used to arrange drink parties while his parents were living in Rawalpindi, adding that on Friday night, he invited only Shahzad, a manger of the Sohan Apartments on drink party and shot him dead at mid-night when both were dead drunk.
A police party led by Inspector Yaqoob and Sub-Inspector Sattar Shah reached the scene after getting information and recovered both dead bodies lying at a distance and a bottle of liquor after breaking the door as the room was locked from inside.
SP (Rural Zone) Faisal Mamen told The News that reason of killing has not been ascertained, however, the police were interrogated while father of Nauman, who was a retired army officer, had been called to ask whether the gun was legal or unlicensed. He said that the police were trying to know why he was keeping gun with him during the drinking. The SP said that Nauman made a telephone call to one of his friends living in Sohan Apartments and told him that he has killed a man and sought help from him, but after a while, he again made the telephone to his friend asking him not to come, as he has done his job and he shot himself dead. The SP confirmed that both were drunk as the police recovered bottle of liquor from the room. A police officer engaged in the investigation said that the aspect of planned murder could not be ruled out.
