Lashkar man, three militants killed in FR Kohat
KOHAT: A member of the pro-government Qaumi Lashkar and three militants were killed in a clash that erupted after the latter fired mortar shells at the Gharibi village in Jawakai area of Frontier Region (FR) Kohat on Saturday, official sources said.
The sources said the militants fired six mortar shells at the Gharibi village from their hideouts in the hilly area of Tor Chappar in Darra Adamkhel. One of the shells hit the house of Malik Etebar Khan, an elder of the lashkar, injuring him critically. He later died on way to the hospital.
Following the incident, the members of the lashkar fired at the hideous of the militants, the sources said. The security forces, the sources said, also fired artillery shells at the hideouts of the militants in Tor Chappar and killed three militants in the attack.
Meanwhile, the residents of Jawakai area demanded the government to post the personnel of the Frontier Corps in the area to check the attacks by the militants.
About 30 people including women and children have been killed in the attacks by the militants in the Jawakai area so far.
