Wanted criminals among 500 held in Lakki
LAKKI MARWAT: Police have arrested over 500 wanted outlaws and suspected people during a special operation against criminal gangs and miscreants last month, an official said on Monday.
He said that police parties, backed by personnel of elite force and anti-terrorist squad and armoured personnel carriers, conducted raids on the hideouts of criminals in different parts of the district. The operation was launched on the directives of the district police officer Gul Wali Khan.
The official claimed that police destroyed hideouts of outlaws in several areas and apprehended 79 wanted criminals. “These people were wanted by Lakki Marwat and Bannu police in murder, kidnapping and other such criminal cases,” he said and added that the law enforcers also held 452 suspects during the month-long operation.
The official said that seven Kalashnikovs, five rifles, 63 pistols, 12 shotguns, three daggers, 8,292 bullets and other contrabands, including hashish and heroin, were seized from these elements. He said that police have registered cases against the accused.
