Lahore: Factory GM clubs worker to death over theft charges
LAHORE: A 40-year-old labourer, father of five, was killed by the GM of a rickshaw manufacturing company in Chung police area on Wednesday. Victim Muhammad Nazeer, a resident of Batapur, was allegedly clubbed to death by a factory manager, Zahid Sharif, on suspicion of stealing tyres. According to police, the victim was a driver in the rickshaw manufacturing company located at Chung.
On the day of the incident, Zahid Sharif called the victim and used abusive language against him. Then he allegedly tortured him with an iron rod. The victim sustained injures and was removed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Chung police reached the spot and collected the evidences. Police have registered a murder case against the accused on the complaint of the victim’s brother Hafeez with no arrest so far. Meanwhile, members of victim’s family also staged a demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club.
