Ferozewala: Man killed over resistance
FEROZEWALA: A man was shot dead while his son sustained serious bullet injuries on resistance in a dacoity bid in Al-Hamad Town wee hours on Thursday. The deceased Abdul Qayyum and his son Ahmad Ali were present in their house and preparing Sehri to observe fast.
Meanwhile, four unidentified armed dacoits after scaling the boundary wall broke into the house. The father and son put up resistance at which the outlaws opened fire killing father Qayyum on the spot and injuring his son Ahmad critically. The area people protested against the gruesome incident and demanded to arrest the culprits. Factory Area police is looking into the matter. Security guard kills person: In another incident a security guard posted in Jandia Road Mosque shot dead a namazi over religious arguments on Thursday. The deceased Shoaib, after offering the prayers started religious conversation with the security guard Tariq which infuriated him. The security guard opened fire killing Shoaib instantly. Later, the guard fled from the scene. B-Division police is investigating. Various markets inspected: The Additional District Collector and TMA Administration Kiran Khursheed, accompanied with Assistant Commissioner Rashid Irshad, and Special Magistrate inspected various markets and shopping centres in the City. Five butchers and six milkmen were heavily fined on charge of selling unhygienic meat and water mixed milk on Thursday. Later, the team visited a Ramazan Bazaar stall, the national flour mill was fined Rs 50,000 when its atta bags were found with less weight. The TMA Administrator while talking to media said the shopkeepers and flour mill owners should fear Allah Almighty, particularly in Ramazan days and sell good quality commodities on accurate rates and suitable weight. TMA would continue its surprise raids in future also, the administrator said.
