Lahore: Former minister granted bail in Qasre Zauq case
LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC), comprising Chief Justice (CJ) Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry and Justice Mazhar Iqbal Siddhu, on Thursday, granted interim bails to three accused, including former provincial minister Tikka Muhammad Iqbal in Rs 1.38 billion Qasre Zauq illegal property grabbing case till August 8.
The bench ordered the applicants, Tikka Iqbal, Muhammad Khan Tikka and Rana Muhammad Azam to deposit two sureties each equivalent to Rs 1 million.
Tikka Iqbal and others are alleged to have got property transferred to their names after kidnapping the owners of Qasr-i-Zauq, Sheikh Ayub and his son, Mohsin Ayub.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) had, earlier, ordered NAB to retrieve the property worth Rs1.38 billion, conduct a thorough investigation into the case and arrest those involved in the scam.
