Rising crime rate goes unchecked in Bahawalnagar
BAHAWALNAGAR: The Law and order situation in Bahawalnagar district is turning from bad to worse day by day as the district police have “apparently” failed to protect the life and property of the citizen and come up to the people’s expectations.
The district police seemed to be helpless before the outlaws and robbers, dacoits and killers. The failure of police is visible from the rising ratio of crime, especially the incidents of murder, dacoity and robbery are the order of the day. That is why, remote areas of the district and other tehsils have become criminals’ den.
According to a report, as many 84 murder, 164 attempt of murder, 30 dacoity and 68 robbery incidents occurred. Besides, 80 motorbikes and 1 car were stolen and 45 motorbikes were snatched.
The gravity of the situation could be gauged from the fact that over 500 murder, robbery, dacoity and theft cases were reported during the last six months. Public circles of the district expressed their concerns over the increasing ratio of crime and urged the Punjab government to adopt proper measure to cope with the situation.
