Attock: Gang of robbers busted
ATTOCK: The police claimed to have busted a 10-member gang of robbers involved in eight cases and recovered weapons from them.
DPO Dr Mohammad Akhtar Abbas informed media persons the other day that during investigation the alleged robbers admitted to having looted Rs2,700 from a postman and Rs20,000 along with jewellery from the house of Khan Bahadur in Dhoke Dera village of Pindigheb on August 3.
Besides, they also deprived Zia Mohammad of his gun, Rs2,500 and jewellery in Mityal village of Basal on July 29. The bandits looted passengers of a Jand-bound wagon and also hijacked the vehicle on July 1.
They had snatched an oil tanker near Taxila on July 27, he added. The accused admitted robbery attempts at a cellular company office and a house in Kalar Syedan village in January 2011. Moreover, a year back, they had also snatched cash Rs4,500, mobile phones and other valuables from people at Chakri road.
