Karachi: Man gets two years for possessing illegal weapon
Karachi: A man was awarded a two-year jail term and a fine of Rs 2,000 on Wednesday for possessing an illegal weapon. In case of default, he would have to undergo two more months’ imprisonment.
Judicial Magistrate (South) Hatim Aziz Solangi found Talha Akhlaq guilty of possessing an illegal weapon that was recovered on his disclosure.
Talha was arrested in a murder case in the year 2009 and during interrogation he revealed that he had dumped a weapon near his residence, following which the Baloch Colony police raided the spot and recovered a TT pistol.
Investigation Officer Sub- Inspector Sami Jan submitted that the accused had committed the offence with the weapon and later dumped it near his residence.
The court observed that the prosecution successfully proved its case beyond any shadow of doubt.
