Lahore: 80-year-old man killed by son over domestic dispute
LAHORE: At least three people, including a woman, were killed in separate incidents across the provincial capital on Thursday. In the first incident, an 80-year-old man was allegedly killed by his son over a domestic issue in the jurisdiction of Green Town police. The deceased was identified as Wali Mohammad, a resident of Umar Chowk.
Police said that Wali Mohammad, a retired WAPDA employee, was at his house when a scuffle broke out between him and his son Ayyub, during which Ayyub beat his father with an iron rod. As a result, he sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he expired. Police reached the spot and removed the body to the city morgue for autopsy. Police have arrested the accused Ayyub after registering an FIR on the complaint of the deceased’s other son Mohammad Yousaf. In the second incident, a 30-year-old woman committed suicide in her house by shooting herself over domestic issues in the jurisdiction of Burki police. The deceased was identified as Nasreen Bibi, resident of Phullarwan village, mother of three, wife of Mohammad Javed. Police said that Nasreen and her husband Javed began quarrelling over domestic issues for the last few months. On the day of the incident, when her husband left the house for his work, she ended her life by shooting herself with a pistol. Police investigator said that the woman had died on the spot. Locals informed the police, who removed the body to city morgue for autopsy. In another incident, a 22-year-old youth expired in a local hospital on Thursday after being admitted when an unidentified man shot him in Defence-B police area on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as Ahmad Bilal, a resident of Y-Block Defence.
