Islamabad: House looted
ISLAMABAD: Robbers struck at a house and made off with gold weighing over 100 tolas along with cash and other valuables on Saturday, police said. The police said four robbers entered a house in F-11/3 belonging to Mohammad Aslam and held the inmates hostage.
The robbers ransacked the house and looted 10-tola gold, Rs100,000 and other valuables. Later the culprits escaped from the house. Shortly after getting information, the police reached the scene and collected the evidence. The police said that the culprits appeared to be Pashtuns and Punjabi by appearance.
SSP Tahir Alam Khan told Dawn that the investigators had picked up some suspects but they had to be released as they were found innocent.
Another senior police officer said that the preliminarily investigation suggested that the robbers had inside information. The police sealed the exit points of the city, but the robbers could not be traced so far, he said.
