Islamabad: Men arrested from Nilore turn out to be terrorists
Islamabad: 2 suspects, arrested from the Nilore area on Saturday evening, have disclosed during the interrogation that they had been involved in numerous terrorism activities in the country including suicide attack at Barri Imam shrine, a police spokesman said.
The Islamabad Police on Sunday obtained two-day physical remand of the terrorists from the court of civil judge who had been arrested in possession of two hand grenades, two pistols and 54 rounds, a police spokesman said.
It merits mentioning here that Islamabad Police foiled an attempt to disrupt peace of the city and arrested two most wanted terrorists on Saturday in possession of two hand grenades, pistols who wanted to target important official buildings and mosques on the eve of Independence Day. Nilore police team led by SHO Nilore Police Station Inspector Tanveer Ahmed Abbassi and Sub-Inspector Muhammad Akbar arrested them during special checking at ‘Thanda Pani’ when they intercepted two persons after they got down from a vehicle and moved towards a populated area.
They have been identified as 31-year-old Nadeem alias Bahadur alias Babar Hussain alias Abdul Raheem alias Maulvi Muhammad Hussain son of Abdul Aziz district Astrore Northern Area and 28-year-old Hafiz Abdul Maroof alias Sana Ullah alias secretary son of Muhammad Usman district Astore Northern Area.
Police have started investigation from them and hopeful to get further important information from them.
