Lahore: Missing man found dead
LAHORE: A 50-year-old man, who had gone missing after boarding a van for Ali Pur Chatta on Thursday, was found dead near Mian Munshi Hospital in the Shafiqabad police area on Sunday.
The man was identified as Muhammad Aslam of Kaba Market, Multan Road. He had left his house for Ali Pur Chatta at around 12pm on Thursday and boarded a van around 12:30pm but did not reach his destination. Bilal, son of Aslam, reported the matter to Shafiqabad police who registered a case of abduction against unidentified accused.
Shafiqabad SHO Inspector Shahid Gujjar claimed that some swindlers killed Muhammad Aslam after offering him some poisonous food. He said as a case of abduction was already been registered which now would be converted into murder case. He said a CCTV footage showed the victim sitting in a van at around 12:30pm on Thursday.
The SHO added police had contacted the driver and conductor of the van for questioning that where and when they had dropped Aslam. “Very soon their statements will be recorded,” the SHO maintained. The victim had been working at an industry for the last 35 five years.
