Rawalpindi: Anjum Aqeel released
Rawalpindi: After his depositing surety bonds in the Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) No-I and the Court of Special Central Judge (SCJ), PML-N MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan was released from Adiala Jail here on Saturday.
A large number of PML-N supporters and activists, including local leadership, were present at Adiala Jail to receive Anjum Aqeel Khan. As he came out of the Adiala Jail, his supporters raised slogans in favor of judiciary; some PML-N activists lifted him on their shoulders and others showered rose petals on Anjum Aqeel Khan. Many of supporters danced with beating of drum.
Later, talking to media persons, the PML-N MNA said that cases registered against him were based on conspiracies. Some enemies of the country wanted to derail democracy and wanted to snatch the Islamabad seat, which is very important. But all conspiracies have failed because courts bail out me, he said.
He said: “My leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is with me all the time, and I will prove that I am a clean man in these cases,” he said.
