Islamabad: 3 gangs busted in capital
Islamabad: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has busted three gangs involved in car snatching, car lifting, dacoities and recovered seven vehicles, stolen items worth Rs10 million from their possession, a police spokesman said.
IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan directed SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan to accelerate efforts in curbing car theft, dacoity and burglary incidents. Following these directions, special teams were constituted under supervision of SP (Investigation) Ch. Liaquat Ali including DSP Anti-Car Lifting Cell Abdul Razzaq, In-Charge Bashir Ahmed Noon, Inspectors Lal Din, Shafique, Bashir and others.
These teams succeeded in arresting 18 persons including two notorious receivers of stolen cars, car thieves and dacoits besides recovering five stolen cars, six mobile phones, six pistols, one Kalashnikov and stolen items worth more than Rs10 million from them.
The nabbed persons involved in dacoities have been identified as Aamir, son of Muhammad Jehangir, resident of Dhoke Matkial, Rawalpindi; Jameel Naseeb, son of Naseeb Ikram, resident of Sector G-11/1, Islamabad; Ramazan, son of Wali Muhammad, resident of Jaranwala; Virkam Masih, son of Nazeer Masih, resident of Gujranwala; Mushtaq Masih, son of Amanat Masih, resident of Narowal; Shahid, son of Ghulam Rasool, resident of Thandlianwala, Faisalabad; Mir Baz, son of Abdul Manan, resident of Islamabad; Rahim Ullah, son of Ameer Aman Khan, resident of Faisalabad; Nizam Din, son of Behram Khan, resident of Abbottabad and two Afghan nationals Syed Kareem, s/o Muhammad Haneef, and Abdul Hadi Khan, son of Khan Jan.
Police recovered looted items worth millions of rupees, six mobile phones, 21 pistols, Kalashnikovs, two cars, one hand grenade, 200 wine bottles, eight kilogram hashish, seven kilogram heroin from nabbed persons and they also confessed to snatch 16 vehicles at gun point from various areas of twin cities. Saddar Circle police has also nabbed car receivers, identified as Razim alias Haji, son of Muhammad Azam, resident of Peshawar; Riaz ur Rehman, son of Saleem ur Rehman, resident of Mardan. Likewise, CIA Police and Anti-Car Lifting Cell have also arrested car thieves identified as Ghulam Kibriya, son of Ghulam Mustafa, resident of Rawalpindi, Shan Mustafa, son of Khaldi Javed, resident of Gujranwala; Jameel Ahmed, son of Mir Afzal, resident of Mansehra; Ayaz Mehmud alias Puppi, resident of Dhoke Gujran, Rawalpindi, and Zahid Tanveer, son of Muhammad Basheer Ahmed, resident of Mansoor Abad Faisalabad.
The cars recovered from these persons bear registration numbers as followed: Corolla Altas Car (ICT-SY-424), Suzuki vans (LEJ-5048, CJ-9518)), Honda VTI (LRB-7171). An oil tanker (GLT-5875) snatched at gunpoint from Sihala Police area was also recovered from them.
