Lahore: One sentenced to life term
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Abul Hassanat Muhammad Zulqarnain on Monday awarded life imprisonment to an accused and imposed Rs 200,000 fine on finding him guilty of possessing around 25 kilograms of hashish. In case of non-payment of fine, the convict would face one-year imprisonment further as per court orders.
Shadbagh police had arrested one Shaukat Ali with 25 kilograms of hashish. On Monday, the judge announced the punishment for Shaukat in connection with the FIR No 108/2003 registered against them by Shadbagh police.
Meanwhile, the same court issued notices to the state on a bail application filed by DSP Riasat Bajwa, key accused allegedly involved in fake encounter case in which police had killed Shahbaz at Rohi Nala site.

The court awarded life imprisonment to one Nigerian national Aimal and the court also confined co-accused Michel for five years. It imposed a fine of Rs 200000 each on both convicts as well and in case of non-payment of fine both would face further imprisonment as per court orders.
According to case details, the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) had arrested both accused from Lahore Airport and seized a heavy quantity of drugs from their possession.
