Man booked for killing family members
KARACHI: An absconding suspect was on Monday booked for killing his wife, two stepdaughters and father-in-law. A woman, her two daughters and elderly father were found slaughtered in their New Karachi home on Sunday morning. The corpses were identified as those of Rajab Ali, 81, his daughter Jamsheda Khatoon, 40, and her two daughters Amna, 14, and Hina, 12.
Stench emanating from the house had prompted the neighbours to scale the gate and peep into the house. A case (FIR 331/2011) was registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code at the New Karachi Industrial Area police station on a complaint of Ghulam Mustafa, son of Rajab Ali.
The main suspect, Mohammad Jehangir, has been nominated in the FIR, SHO Ishtiaq Ghauri said. He was said to have contracted a second marriage, the SHO said.
“We carried out raids on a few places last night but couldn’t find the suspect,” he added.
