5 dacoits flee after breaking cordon
MIANWALI: Five dacoits escaped, who had taken refuge in sugarcane fields on Thursday night, escaped after breaking the police cordon at Bharonwala village. The dacoits entered the house of Maulvi Ghulam Rasool, held the inmates hostage at gunpoint and looted four tolas of gold ornaments, Rs60,000 and mobile phones.
Women raised an alarm and villagers came out of their homes with weapons. He said the dacoits resorted to aerial firing and entered the sugarcane fields. The Paikhel police reached the spot and cordoned the sugarcane fields. When the sniffer dogs reached the spot at 9am on Friday, it was revealed the dacoits had already escaped.
