Female teachers suspended over fake degrees
KARAK: Nine female primary schoolteachers (PSTs) were suspended for possessing fake documents following investigations carried out by the respective educational boards and universities.
Sources in the Education Department here Saturday said that about 150 teachers of various cadres, both male and female, had been recruited in 2010. When Executive District Officer Haziqur Rehman Khattak took charge as EDO Karak, he sent the certificates of the newly recruited teachers to the relevant educational boards and universities for verification before the release of their salaries.
The salaries of the verified teachers were released while the nine female PSTs having fake documents were terminated from service.
When contacted, the EDO said the verification process was underway and if more teachers documents were found fake, action would be taken against them as well. He said that after Eid, a series of surprise visits would be carried out to ascertain the ghost schools and their teachers.
